Our Challenge
Our team was tasked with selecting and analyzing a real-world leader who had navigated a significant leadership challenge.
We chose Ginni Rometty, former CEO of IBM, who led the company through a high-stakes transformation from legacy hardware to a cloud-based services model. The challenge was to evaluate her decisions, assess her leadership approach, and identify lessons for future leaders.
The Outcome
We produced a comprehensive memo and final slide deck that traced Rometty’s bold, long-term strategy, her emphasis on value-driven decision-making, and her efforts to shift IBM’s internal culture. Our analysis highlighted the complexities of stakeholder communication, risk-taking, and organizational change.
We presented our findings and slide deck to our peers and instructor on the final day of class.
